Snow falls on Changbai, and the Qilin has a daughter.
In 2005, the blizzards of Changbai Mountain are about to swallow the man as silent as stone.
Zhang Qiling stands before the Bronze Gate, ready to spend his whole life fulfilling a promise no one remembers. He doesn’t look back, because there is no one behind him, until a voice cuts through the snowstorm:
“Zhang Qiling, if you dare to leave, I’ll change the Zhang family name to Wang.”
He turns and sees a girl whose features look strikingly like his own, standing in the snow with a steaming cup of milk tea in her hand.
She is his daughter. His daughter, who transmigrated here from twenty-eight years in the future.
What the Zhang family protects is not a secret, but people.
She doesn’t know what lies beyond the Bronze Gate.
But she knows there is milk tea, hot pot, Wi-Fi, and them outside it.
That’s enough.
