Beyond the starter village lies the vast Central Plains.
To the north, blizzards sweep the lands beyond the passes, where the Khitan, Jurchen, Mongol, and other tribes hold sway. There is the mysterious organization Heroes’ Island, whose two envoys of Rewarding Good and Punishing Evil appear every ten years to invite the heroes of the realm to the island for Laba porridge. The supreme Tai Xuan Scripture is hidden among the island’s stone carvings.
Sail east, and Japanese ronin come wielding their swords, their ninjutsu uncanny. In the Eastern Sea lies Peach Blossom Island, where Huang Yaoshi has set up a maze of strange gates and hidden paths. The island abounds with treasures, but is perilous in the extreme.
To the south, the Dali Du clan’s One Yang Finger and Six Meridian Divine Sword are renowned throughout the southern frontier. At Tianlong Temple, Master Kurong pursues the meditation of withered stillness. Farther south, the headquarters of the Five Poisons Sect lies deep within the rainforest.
To the west, a lone plume of smoke rises over the desert, and the Kunlun Mountains stretch on without end. The Bright Peak towers above the land, with the nations of the Western Regions arrayed around it. Farther west lies the Buddhist realm of Tianzhu, where the ruins of Nalanda Temple may hold the origins of Shaolin martial arts.
