Divine Punishment Subdues the Heavens

Story Introduction to The Fragrant Incense Calls Down Thunder: I Wield Divine Punishment to Subdue the Heavens:

The Nine Heavens Thunder Emperor, Su Chen, was betrayed by his close friend and beloved. His divine soul shattered, he fell into a ruined temple in a barren mortal realm and attached himself to a clay statue, where he slept for ten thousand years. Bandits from Blackwind Mountain chased the village girl Ling Qingyuan to the temple. In her desperate plight, the girl lit half a stick of incense and made a wish, accidentally awakening Su Chen's lingering soul. The “Incense Sacrifice: Divine Thunder System” activated, and its first bolt of divine lightning burned the bandit leader to a crisp.

Ling Qingyuan and the villagers offered sacrifices to the statue. As the incense offerings grew, Su Chen gathered power and unlocked abilities such as lightning at his fingertips and blessings from a spirit spring. From striking down the bandits who sought revenge and punishing the evil landlord Zhou Bapi, to blasting the Blood Demon Child who refined children's souls, Su Chen summoned thunder with the burning incense and protected the peace of the Ling Family Village. His fame as the “Thunder God” spread a hundred miles.

As the faith of a million believers gathered, Su Chen advanced from a wild god of clay to an earth deity. He called down the heavenly tribulation to temper his body, and at last took human form. Before the white-clad youth shattered the void and departed for the cultivation world, he left them with one instruction: “Keep an eye on the house.” Then he set off, bound for a world where old scores awaited settling, the glory of the Thunder Emperor awaited restoration, and the Myriad Worlds awaited his divine punishment.
