The story takes place in a cultivation world where memory is the foundation and forgetting is a calamity. The protagonist, Cao Guoqiang, was a 33-year-old restorer of ancient books on Earth. After an accident, his consciousness was swept through the “Gate of the Void” into the “Xuanhuang Microcosm,” which was on the verge of collapse due to the “Great Tide of Forgetting.” Charged with saving this realm, he begins a unique path of memory cultivation as a “visitor from another world,” starting with the “First Stirring of Awareness.” As he cultivates the “Song of Xuanhuang Creation” and studies the “Canon of the Primordial Fist of Infinite Unity,” he meets Bai Ling, a young demon girl who believes in “equality for all beings,” and encounters Yun Wuyue, his destined cultivation partner, whose pursuit of “Supreme Detachment from Emotion” puts her at odds with him. He must not only face the oppression of Liew Tian, a demon sage who believes in “the law of the jungle,” but also venture deep into the Three Realms and Six Paths, climb the Tree of Memory, gather scattered “Origins of Memory,” and fight against the world’s forgetfulness. In the end, Cao Guoqiang chooses neither destruction nor absolute control. Through “enlightenment” and “innovation,” at the “rings of time” on the Tree of Memory, he composes the “Scripture of the Free Sea of Memories,” surpassing reincarnation and elevating the collapsing microcosm into a “Pure Land of Memory” attached to the main world. He himself reaches the state of “Eternal Freedom,” discovering a new way for all things to endure.
