End of Summer: The Cicadas Sing

[Wild Imagination + Half Ten Days to the End Fanfic, Half Original + Reimagined Continuation + Mind Games and Political Schemes]

“Cicadas don't live through the summer. I hope I can die a glorious death before the rosebay flowers fall.”

Wu Yi muttered to himself, yanked the pendant from his neck, and climbed to the top of the pyramid. At last, he had earned the right to face Qi Xia.

“You're still trapped by those false appearances, Wu Yi.”

“You've disappointed me...”

Qi Xia lowered his eyes slightly, looking at the young man nearby with pity and sorrow.

But Wu Yi suddenly laughed, his voice full of resentment long held in check.

“Ha, hahahaha...”

“What an arrogant sheep.”
