Strange Cases in the Mountain Stronghold

[Story Synopsis]

Deep in the mountains of northwestern Hunan, in a Tujia village, Long Hen is a taciturn young man whom the villagers regard as a "jinx." Ten years ago, his entire family perished in a mysterious fire. He alone was taken in by his clan uncle, "Guo Yao," an eccentric Taoist priest with a strong local reputation. In the real world, Long Hen is the village’s dreaded harbinger of misfortune and an inconspicuous temporary worker in the archives room of the local police station. No one knows that he has another identity: "Di Ting," a mysterious medium and detective on the international darknet who strikes terror into the hearts of the world’s most notorious criminals. Thanks to his rare gift for communicating with the dead, he has solved one bizarre case after another.
