The Tale of a Tiger’s Transformation

The Tiger Transformation is the opposite of Kafka’s The Metamorphosis. It tells the story of a useless man who gains the ability to work after turning into a tiger.

The story incorporates the following plotlines:

1. As a child, he promised to treat his parents to a life of luxury. When he grows up, he tells his mother, “We’re not going to treat your illness anymore.”

2. A girl’s husband dies on their wedding day, and she goes mad. Whenever someone gets married, she puts on her wedding dress and waits at the village entrance to die alongside her deceased groom.

3. “Oh, devoted demon, please wait for me one more lifetime. In our next life, will you still recognize me?”

The story of Lao Lin, a human, and Pianpian, a white-naped crane:

1. First of all, this is a wildlife conservation case.

2. Hetaowalnut rejected the male crane because of imprinting.

4. The keeper successfully got the female crane to breed by performing a courtship dance, clumsy as it was.

After the white-naped crane died, Keeper Lao Lin said, “I’ll never love anyone again, because I’ll never find another partner who dances whenever they see me.”

Many years later, Lao Lin was walking down the street when he suddenly felt like dancing. Clumsily, he began to imitate the crane dance again. Just as he was about to finish, he heard a little girl nearby laughing. She laughed for a long time, while Lao Lin stood frozen, staring at her. When the girl finally tired of laughing, she wiped her tears and said, “Your dancing is still just as awful.” Two streams of tears trickled down her face, and no matter how hard she tried, she couldn’t wipe them away.

King Yama: What would you like to be reborn as in your next life?

Pianpian: A human.

Lao Lin: A white-naped crane.

In the next life, Pianpian was reborn as a human, and the keeper became a crane. “Your courtship dance is still just as clumsy.”
