Sword Across the Heavens: Beginning with Lu Xiaofeng

The protagonist, Ye Yun (or another name), wakes up one day as the younger brother of Ye Gucheng, the “Lord of White Cloud City.” On Feixian Island in the South Sea, he displays astonishing talent with the sword. At just twelve years old, he can already grasp the sword intent of “Heavenly Sword,” and Ye Gucheng sees him as another peerless sword destined to lead White Cloud City’s future. But Ye Yun is a restless soul, bored with the island’s tedious training and longing for the exciting martial world his brother describes, a world of Lu Xiaofeng, Hua Manlou, fine wine, and strange cases. At sixteen, he leaves a letter behind, takes only a sword, and secretly departs the island, setting foot in the Central Plains.
