Jiang Wan never thought that she would be related to a wall.
The summer she turned twenty-six, she moved into a ridiculously cheap rental house. On the white wall of the living room, there is a strange mark painted on it - a six-pointed star with the sun and moon between it, and a circle of incomprehensible words on the outside.
That first night, the mark glowed in the dark.
The next night, a voice called her name came from the wall.
On the third night, her student Zhou Xiaoyu said on the phone: "Teacher, I dreamed that you disappeared."
Then, Zhou Xiaoyu disappeared.
While searching for the student, Jiang Wan discovered a surprising secret: a woman died in this house decades ago, and the mark was a spell to suppress her resentful spirit. But now that the spell has loosened, the resentful souls have begun to "borrow lives" - borrowing the lives of living people in exchange for their own rebirth.
What's even more terrifying is that Jiang Wan discovered that she looked exactly like the dead woman.
When the voice in the wall began to call her name, when the image in the mirror began to make movements that she had never done, when the woman who had been dead for many years began to replay the murder in her dream——
Jiang Wan must find out the truth: was her life borrowed, or was she not supposed to be alive?
