Modern-day best friends Fu Ying and Song Ran accidentally transmigrate into Empresses in the Palace, becoming Yixiu and Nian Shilan, two women destined for tragic ends. Faced with a palace full of danger, they decide to join forces and rewrite their fate!
Fu Ying, as Yixiu, puts aside her cruelty and uses modern management skills to run the imperial harem, balancing kindness and authority until her position as empress is as secure as a mountain. Song Ran, as Nian Shilan, conceals her arrogance, wins the emperor over by acting sweet and vulnerable, and advances step by step with the support of the Nian family. Armed with their knowledge of the plot, they set their traps with precision, ensuring that Zhen Huan, the “Chosen One,” is crushed before she can rise.
But when they are no longer content with fighting for power in the harem and reach into the imperial court, cultivating allies and expanding their influence, the all-powerful emperor finally begins to suspect them. Storms in court and harem follow one after another: the emperor’s suppression, their enemies’ counterattacks, and internal conflicts all come in quick succession.
See how this pair of modern best friends use their intelligence and teamwork to navigate the palace’s treacherous currents, joining hands to rise from pawns to players. In the end, they must not only secure their place in this strange world, but also, rule the realm together!
