Synopsis
Chu Chu, chief physician of the Imperial Academy of Medicine, transmigrates overnight into the body of an unwanted wife from a modern wealthy family. From the start, her fiancé's family publicly humiliates her and tries to drive her away with a check. Facing this unfamiliar world, she calmly picks up the check, then turns around and serves a calming decoction, accurately identifying the old madam's hidden ailment: it will be cured in three days, or she'll disappear of her own accord.
The three-day deal ends with the illness cured, but it also reveals the calm surface of the Chu family for what it is. The old madam takes another look at this seemingly fragile woman, while Chu Tianyang, heir to the Chu family, keenly senses that she harbors secrets that don't belong to this era: the long-lost Seven-Star Soul-Calming Needles, the mark of the Imperial Academy of Medicine's chief physician, and a golden-glowing copy of the Lost Scrolls of Taixuan.
Yet the real danger has only just begun to emerge. A collateral branch of the Chu family conspires with Xinghui Entertainment to steal people's luck through dark magic. The Hidden Dragon Alliance covets her ancient inheritance. And the Cinnabar Sect of Nanyang returns with a twenty-year blood feud, laying the Memory-Devouring Curse to sever the bond of love between her and Chu Tianyang, along with their shared-life pact. An even deeper conspiracy lies beneath the ancestral hall: rows upon rows of clay jars seal the souls of infants who died in the Bingchen year, while a blood-written prophecy on a broken stele reads, “If the Bingchen girl does not die, the true ruler cannot reclaim the throne.”
When golden needles meet dark magic, and the legacy of imperial physicians clashes with Nanyang talismans, Chu Chu takes on the entire hidden cultivation world alone. Chu Tianyang protects her with his life, forging a shared-life pact that links their pain and memories: if you feel one measure of pain, I feel ten; if you take one step forward, I'll retreat three paces.
A night of atonement before the blood mirror, a secret door opening in the underground palace, a moonlit trial of love, talisman flames illuminating true hearts... When the cinnabar mole on Lin Wan'er's right shoulder becomes a signal for help, when a woman in a qipao draws her eyebrows before a mirror in an abandoned hospital, when the cake box at the birthday banquet
