Global Invasion: I Have a System from the Start

Lin Xiao, 28 years old, unemployed for two years and living on instant noodles.

The streets descended into chaos. Some people were crying, others running, and some knelt to pray.

Lin Xiao stood still, stunned for three seconds.

Then a line of text appeared before his eyes, invisible to everyone else:

[Congratulations, you have one more golden finger than everyone else]

A minute later, the world changed.

The city became an instance, the neighbors became monsters, and a blood-red [LV.7 Elite] label floated above a stray cat by the roadside.

While everyone else was still figuring out how to open their status panels, Lin Xiao was already looking through his beginner's gift pack.

Then he heard a calm woman's voice behind him:

“Excuse me, you're blocking my view of the announcement.”

He turned around. A woman with her hair tied in a low ponytail was holding a notebook and rapidly writing something down.

She was Su Ran, a former game-company balance designer.

She was looking at the System panel too.

But she had no golden finger.

Later, she said, “You have a System, I have brains. We're even.”

Later, he discovered that she had no sense of direction, a sharp tongue, and could blow up a kitchen with her cooking,

but whenever he thought he was done for, she was always the first to step in front of him.

This is a story about two ordinary people.
