After Daiyu bid farewell to the Jia Mansion by feigning death, she returned to her hometown in Zhejiang to take out the belongings left to her by her father. She lived in a small courtyard on the outskirts of the city. Two of her trusted maids went home with her, while her wet nurse stayed in the Jia Mansion to take care of Jia's mother. One day when she was painting by the lake, she met the Prince of Beiding who was traveling in plainclothes. The prince proposed to Daiyu because his mother was urging her to get married. They went north together and Daiyu started a new life. When she met Baoyu again, he was already the father of a child. Baochai was still charming. Daiyu encountered some new things, and the princess followed the trend, and true love accompanied her.
