Yun Jue and Xun Huaiyi (the prototypes of Zhang Yuniang and Shen Quan) were childhood sweethearts who fell in love with each other and made a marriage contract. However, with the outbreak of the Song-Mongolian War, the Southern Song Dynasty gradually declined and the people were in dire straits. This book uses the stories of the two to connect the various aspects of people's livelihood and love and hatred in the late Song Dynasty.
