Mutual redemption
Jiang He lost both her parents at ten and went to live with her grandmother in the countryside. That year, human traffickers came to Wanzhou. Jiang He discovered their hideout and became one of their victims. After she was rescued, she developed PTSD. Then, at twenty, she met Shen Jue again.
Shen Jue was also one of the victims. When her mother was pregnant with her, the doctor said the baby was a boy. Her father was delighted, and those were among the few happy times her parents shared. It all fell apart after she was born.
