The protagonist, Lu Feng, was born into the Lu family of Canglan Town on the Northern Yuan Continent. Born with an ordinary mortal body, he could not absorb the spiritual energy of heaven and earth, and was already treated with contempt. After his parents went missing, Grand Elder Lu Zhentian grew wary of him and oppressed him further, crippling the cultivation he had painstakingly built over many years before banishing him to the forbidden ground known as God-Burying Ridge to await death. What he did not know was that God-Burying Ridge was an ancient battlefield, a place where those with ruined bodies were buried, but also where those who defied heaven first rose to power.
