Matriarchy: The Blind Beauty Beloved by a Big Shot

In everyone's eyes, Shen Chi is the most heartbreaking lost star at A University. He has a cool, otherworldly face and was once a teenage prodigy with a limitless future, until an accident took his sight and left him isolated, gloomy, and keeping everyone at arm's length.

They don't know that every night, a woman climbs through his window at the same time.

Her name is Jiang Mian. To the public, she's a washed-up celebrity; in reality, she's the city's unchallenged queen, and both the underworld and the authorities have to mind their manners around her. Shen Chi hates her arrogance, and hates even more that she treats him like a blind toy she can manipulate.

But he's blind. He can't see the possessiveness churning in her eyes, or the pleased, satisfied look on her face after she teases him, gazing at his rumpled collar and reddened eyes.

“Shen Chi, would it kill you to ask me?”

“Get lost.”

“Fine.” She chuckled softly by his ear, her warm breath deliberately brushing his earlobe. “Then I'll kiss you until you beg me.”

Shen Chi clenched the bedsheets, his Adam's apple bobbing as he turned his head away. He didn't understand why this woman insisted on clinging to him, using those tantalizingly intermittent touches to slowly shatter all his pride and composure.

In the darkness, he traced her warmth and scent over and over in his mind.

He hated being unable to see her expression, and hated that he wanted to beg her after all: beg her not to stop.

“Don't hold back.” She took his wandering hand, trying to escape, and laced her fingers with his. Bending down to kiss his fingertips, she spoke with gentle coaxing and dangerous certainty:

“I want you to tell me yourself just how badly you want it.”
