This Mechanic Has Cheats
Kuang Shi, a 34-year-old overworked employee at a state-owned company, died from an electric shock while working overtime on a design.
When he opened his eyes again, he had become an eighteen-year-old boy in another world, newly awakened as a "useless mechanic". The boy had the same name as him. This world had magic and mutated beasts, but no technology. Mechanics could only repair waterwheels and shoe horses, making theirs one of the lowest and most despised trades.
What a coincidence.
Kuang Shi had been named an outstanding employee for ten years straight. CAD drafting, PLC programming, industrial robot integration: he was top-notch at all of it.
He used discarded mana stones from a junkyard to build an energy core, then welded scrap metal into an electromagnetic kinetic gun. The first bullet blew a mutated beast's head apart; the first crystal core cracked open the truth about this world.
Mages called him a practitioner of heresy. The great families coveted his technology. The mutated beasts revolted ahead of schedule, and the extraterrestrial beasts were still on their way.
Kuang Shi slapped his blueprints on the table. "Anyone who calls me useless, take a number and get in line. Anyone who wants to steal from me can ask my robots first."
The moment his steel battle suit took flight, all of Lanxing was asking the same question:
Just what kind of cheat does this mechanic have?
