Synopsis

[Two powerhouses in criminal investigation and the occult + satisfying episodic cases + rapid-fire twists] No golden finger, no System.

Su Wan, the stern-faced captain of the criminal investigation unit, trusts only one rule: "Physical evidence doesn't lie." With her expert forensic skills and investigative logic, she cracks one strange case after another, until she hits a wall in a series of ritualistic murders. Three crime scenes have no fingerprints, no DNA, and no witnesses. The killer has vanished without a trace, leaving modern investigative methods at a dead end.

With nowhere else to turn, she seeks out Lin Yi, a practitioner of Plum Blossom Numerology whom the police regard as a "charlatan." This professor of folklore uses just three copper coins to cast a divination and pinpoint the killer's next target, even predicting the method of the next murder.

One is relentless in pursuing evidence; the other trusts the workings of fate. From constantly clashing to working in perfect sync, they tackle the Six Harmony Soul-Calming Formation, the Seven Stars Life-Borrowing Case, the Nine Palaces Soul-Locking Scheme... Behind each bizarre murder lies a shocking conspiracy spanning nine hundred years. When the final divination points to the last person anyone would suspect, which will reveal the ultimate truth: hard evidence or the secrets of fate?

Standalone Mystery Cases, Deduction, Lots of Cases, and No System

Not too much romance. I want a novel focused purely on solving cases.

Crime Investigation Stories with a Romance and Detailed Case Solving

I want to read books like *Veil the Clouds [Criminal Investigation]*. Are there any stories where both leads are criminal police officers, with a strong female lead and a strong male lead? The female lead shouldn’t be a doctor, forensic pathologist, or lawyer, and I don’t want fantasy or folk-supernatural elements with monsters and ghosts.

Looking for Fast-Paced Crime and Forensic Investigation Novels with No Draggy Plotlines

Preferably, the male lead shouldn’t have a romantic pairing.

Recently Got into Crime and Forensics: Any Stories with Two Police-Detective Leads?

Looking for books similar to *Captain, Watch Out: This Policewoman Has Thorns.* To be clear, both leads need to be criminal investigators! I want good writing and tight logic. Don’t treat readers like idiots. Make it exciting. If it’s unbearably cringey, I’ll do a 360-degree Thomas the Tank Engine spin and jump straight into the Guinness World Records.

Please, I'm Looking for Novels About Taoist Priests

The protagonist is a Taoist priest who gets stronger and stronger after coming down from the mountains, with an incredibly powerful background. He visits the underworld, communicates with spirits, and hunts demons and evil spirits.

Any Mystery-Deduction Stories With One Case After Another?

Crime Investigation and Case-Solving, Episodic Stories, No One Big Case Running Through the Whole Novel!

I want cases one after another, not a single major case running through the whole story. The female lead must have no romance! No tragic backstory or psychological trauma for every protagonist, either. Just solving cases!
