[BL + physical and emotional angst + love after separation + happy ending]
If you asked Pei Huaizhao what he regretted most in his life, it would probably be not killing Jiang Ziqing when he first betrayed him.
Pei Huaizhao kept telling himself not to trust him again. But each time he saw Jiang Ziqing protect him, even offering his own life in exchange for Pei Huaizhao's safety, he let his heart give in once more.
But the sincerity he offered was trampled completely. This time, Pei Huaizhao didn't go soft. He personally destroyed all of Jiang Ziqing's martial arts and imprisoned him in a dark cell, torturing him day after day.
“Does it hurt?”
“Jiang Ziqing, the pain in your body is less than one ten-thousandth of what I feel in my heart.”
At the empress-making ceremony, Jiang Ziqing drove a dagger into his chest and dug out the pill he'd nourished with his own heart's blood to purge the poison in Pei Huaizhao's body. Only then did Pei Huaizhao understand that Jiang Ziqing truly loved him.
But it seemed everything was already too late.
Top: Pei Huaizhao
Bottom: Jiang Ziqing
(The bottom has always loved the top wholeheartedly. His so-called betrayal had its reasons. The scenes where the top abuses the bottom are driven by the mistaken belief that he'd been betrayed, and by the hatred born of deep love.)
The love between the two protagonists started out as a love affair. The second volume started five years ago. There is one thing that happened in the past, and it was broken in Chapter 16. But I have a question. Is this reunion plot a misunderstanding about the reunion or death and resurrection of the story five years ago? I think Shou might be resurrected later, because someone seemed to have put something in there and then took Shou away (forgive me for forgetting what it was called on one page per second). Can the author give an answer after seeing this (first time posting a long comment)
A very good book, good luck to the author
