Under the city’s night sky, a string of murders unfolds. Each victim is subjected to a highly ritualized form of vigilante punishment, and the silver scales left at every scene proclaim that the killer, who calls himself the “Judge,” is carrying out the justice he believes in through murder.
The city police are at a standstill, and Detective Captain Chen Yuan has no choice but to turn to Lin Mo, a specially appointed criminal profiler. Keen-eyed yet reclusive and taciturn, this genius gradually sketches the Judge’s profile through his sharp insight into criminal psychology: a highly intelligent sociopath who relishes the game. But as Lin Mo digs deeper, he discovers that the killer seems to know his past inside out, and each crime is meticulously designed to strike at the wounds of his childhood.
The composed forensic pathologist Su Ting looks for a breakthrough in the physical evidence, while Chen Yuan casts an ironclad net with ruthless resolve. As psychological defenses and physical evidence intertwine, the Judge’s mask is peeled away layer by layer. He is Wu Ming, a widely respected philanthropist. And the manhunt has long since become a game of “sculpting” that Wu Ming carefully devised for Lin Mo.
Teetering on the brink of collapse, Lin Mo must find a balance between his personal obsession and reason if he is to stop this frenzied feast carried out in the name of justice.
The writing is quite good, but it's a little short. I hope the author will stick to it and write two more chapters every day. I'll be fattened up before I kill again.
Full of suspense and exciting psychological elements, it is a very readable and top-notch book in the criminal psychology genre. It's fun to watch, but updates are a bit slow
. I just saw this book. I am an old bookworm, but I have the desire to read this book. It's just a bit short, it would be better if it was finished.
