In the thirteenth year of Yongxi's reign, Xie Chang'an, a son from a poor family in Qingzhou, came to Beijing to take the exam. An old bamboo tube hung around his waist, which contained seven words written in blood by his father in prison: Cui Yuheng, Ministry of Personnel, Yongxi Sixth Year.
