Four o’clock in the morning.
The cold glow of his phone screen fell across Lin Shen’s face. He opened the livestreaming app with practiced ease and entered the room title: “Late-Night Horror Gameplay, Cowards Stay Out.”
The livestream had only a handful of viewers. A few night owls were lurking, and the comments trickled in.
[Here we go again! What’s Brother Shen playing today?]
[What kind of cursed sleep schedule is this? Is the streamer made of iron?]
[Selling good-luck charms, peachwood swords, and black donkey hooves in the front row! Need any, streamer? Fair prices!]
Lin Shen ignored the teasing, put on his headphones, and adjusted the camera so it would clearly capture his profile and the computer screen in front of him. He clicked an icon on his desktop: an old-fashioned design streaked with dark-red bloodstains. The game was called Night Corridor.
