Lin Xiao, a 12-year-old boy from Jiangcheng, comes from an ordinary background. But on the pickup courts, he reveals a once-in-a-century talent for basketball. Retired provincial team coach Zhao Jianjun spots him and takes him on as a student for free, setting him on the path to a professional career. Starting from scratch, he sweeps aside adult opponents on the pickup courts and dominates the school team’s star player in tryouts. But because his style is flamboyant and he refuses to submit to rigid rules, the head coach mercilessly bans him from the team.
Unrecognized, with no stage to shine on and treated with contempt, Lin Xiao never bows his head. He trains day and night, honing his fundamentals to perfection, and takes on official leagues as a streetball player, shattering every prejudice. From school tournaments to the national youth league, from domestic rookie to the NBA, he breaks through racial barriers and overwhelms European and American superstar talents, all while playing in an Asian body.
He stages one comeback after another, rises to become the league MVP, wins a championship, and carries the hopes of Chinese basketball on his shoulders. With sweat and talent, he writes an epic tale of passion, rising from a boy on the pickup courts to a legend of world basketball!
