World view setting
Core concept: Journey to the West is not about attaining enlightenment, but a sacrificial ceremony that continues from ancient times to the present day. Nine-nine and eighty-one difficulties, each one is a seal, suppressing the fragments of an indescribable existence. Every time a pilgrim experiences a difficulty, a seal is released, allowing a part of existence to return.
Era background: During the Zhenguan period of the Tang Dynasty, the world was peaceful on the surface, but in fact demons were everywhere, and they were completely different from the monsters in the traditional Journey to the West - they were not monsters who wanted to live forever and eat the flesh of Tang Monk, but aberrations distorted by some kind of "pollution". The Buddha's light is no longer a symbol of compassion, but a pale, cold, and suffocating force of suppression.
