Synopsis

[Urban Cultivation] [Multiple Female Leads] [Slow Burn]

Shen Jingzhe is struck by someone jumping from a building while trying to save his female best friend. His soul leaves his body on the spot, only for a chain-wielding Underworld princess to snare the wrong soul!

Even more absurdly, the Book of Life and Death clearly states that he was a great benefactor in ten lifetimes, yet met an untimely end in every one. In this life, his death is fated to leave his soul scattered, ending his cycle of reincarnation forever!

But the Great Emperor of Fengdu makes an instant decision: he takes Shen Jingzhe as his personal disciple, grants him the Nine Netherworld Prison-Suppressing Art, appoints him to a seventh-rank official post in the Underworld, and invests him as the [Inspector of the Two Realms], free to travel between the worlds of yin and yang!

As for Feng Yao, the princess who stirred up such a catastrophe, she is punished by being made Shen Jingzhe's personal ghost maid, bound to serve him for life and stay by his side through life and death!

From then on, the human world loses an ordinary corporate drone, while the realms of yin and yang gain an inspector who holds the power of life and death.

With the Soul Hook in his left hand, he binds vengeful ghosts who died unjustly. With the Soul-Gathering Gourd in his right, he takes in all the injustices between yin and yang.

There should be hidden sects, clans, and dedicated organizations that oversee them at the national level. The protagonist shouldn’t be a student.

I’m So Disappointed in Urban Cultivation Novels!

99.9% of urban cultivation novels follow the same formula: an Immortal Emperor (or Immortal Venerable) returns to Earth, and from the start, runs into a classmate who mocks him and invites him to a reunion. He shows off and face-slaps everyone at the reunion, then meets an old man from a powerful family who asks him to treat an illness.

Urban Cultivation

Any good urban cultivation novels with realms like Foundation Establishment, Innate Realm, Core Formation, Golden Core, Nascent Soul, Out-of-Body, Spirit Division, Body Integration, Void Insight, and Great Ascension? Ideally there's a funny old man who takes the protagonist under his wing. Please, please recommend some!
