It follows his experiences and struggles during the closing years of the war, the early days of the nation's founding, the Cultural Revolution, Reform and Opening Up, and the new millennium. It also explores the struggles between forces from various countries over the legacy of Unit 731, and ends with Zhuzi either reconciling with himself or meeting his destruction.
