The Song of Two Swordswomen

By a cold pool in a misty Jiangnan town, Bai Wushuang, an orphan of Medicine King Valley, forms an unexpected bond with Hongxiao, a former Holy Maiden of the Demonic Cult. One is cool and aloof, sword in hand, and knows the secrets of the Soul-Quelling Gu. She is devoted to healing the world. The other is fiery as her red robes, roaming the land with a nine-section whip, her carefree ways giving way to steadfast faith. Bound by fate through the marks of 'medicine' and 'fire,' the two swear to share the burden of the poison gu and protect the holy flame as they face pursuit and conspiracy.

From late-night talks in a ruined temple to searching for clues in Kunlun, from the final battle at the Altar of the Holy Flame to opening a clinic together, the two join forces to break the poison gu and solve strange cases. Amid the scent of mint in Jiangnan and the aroma of strong liquor in the northern deserts, they witness old grudges being laid to rest and the warmth of everyday life. When the Demonic Cult's former followers return to the fold and fake medicine peddlers are brought to justice, when thirty years of growth are carved into the bluestone paving, these two women, so different in temperament, have already tucked their concern for each other into their daily banter. With sword and medicine, strength and gentleness, they forge a path through the martial world guided by a healer's compassion and a warrior's duty to protect the Way.

This is a legend of protection and growth, and a tender, long song of two women keeping each other company through the years. The martial world is never a journey taken alone. It's having someone by your side to watch peach blossoms ferment into wine, someone to weather the storms with you, and turning a life of clashing blades into the gentle flow of ordinary days.
