A Match Made in Heaven

Special announcement: A new story about Zhou Yuchen and Fang Yanzhou is now out, titled This Guy Had Been Plotting It All Along. Give it a read!

[Marriage first, love later + gentle slice-of-life slow burn + both are virgins + happy ending]

They planned to be a polite couple who treated each other with respect, but in the end, their love burned brighter than fireworks.

When both parties in this family-arranged marriage fall in love, where can the two hearts involved go from there?

*

Lu Zhiwei, an obstetrician-gynecologist, has never had much hope or anticipation when it comes to love and marriage.

Marrying the man her father chose for her in a family alliance would at least contribute to the family business.

--

Second Young Master Zhou, Zhou Yu'an, is perfect in every way, yet has never been involved in a scandal. He seems to have little interest in women.

He sees the marriage alliance as a way to answer to his parents and family.

Fortunately, Dr. Lu’s personality makes him think their married life won’t be too much trouble.

[Anwei Couple Mini-Scenes]

Before the wedding

Mr. Zhou: After we get married, let’s just be a couple who respect each other and treat each other with courtesy.

Ms. Lu: Sure.

Mr. Zhou: As for children, either a boy or a girl is fine. One is enough, so it won’t affect your career.

Ms. Lu: Agreed.

After the wedding

Mr. Zhou: Mrs. Zhou, is the hospital really that busy? Are obstetricians busier than a conglomerate CEO like me?!

Mrs. Zhou: Mm. There’s an emergency tonight, so eat without me. Don’t wait up.

-

Mr. Zhou: Mrs. Zhou, your son stole you away from me again last night. How about we try for another child, a daughter this time?

Mrs. Zhou: The hospital has been busy lately, and I might be sent on a Doctors Without Borders relief mission at the end of the year, so not for the next two years.

Mr. Zhou: Waaaah... I could cry.
