The Ordinary Circuit Breaker tells the story of Lin Mo, an electrician from an ordinary background who works an unremarkable job in a residential complex. Every day, he deals with aging wiring and superiors who dodge responsibility. Money is tight, and he sees little hope for the future. His father's critical illness and hospitalization make matters even worse, leaving him struggling just to make ends meet.
During a crisis in the power distribution room on a stormy night, Lin Mo's solid skills and sense of responsibility help him avert a potentially devastating fire. By chance, he also meets Zhang Qiming, a veteran in the power industry who once studied under his father. This encounter becomes a turning point in Lin Mo's life.
In his new workplace, Lin Mo faces scorn over his lack of formal education, as well as exclusion and harassment from colleagues, especially Li, a graduate of a prestigious university who constantly targets him. But with the wealth of hands-on experience he has accumulated, the practical values passed down by his father, and his own tireless dedication to learning, he repeatedly shines when confronted with technical challenges.
Lin Mo must tackle not only technical problems at work but also tangled workplace relationships. As he stays true to his original principles and continues to grow, he uses his own hands and ingenuity to make his ordinary life shine with a light of its own, like a circuit breaker switched back on.
