Synopsis of The Dao Lord of the Scarless Heavens
Dao Marks are fragments of the laws of the universe and the source of a cultivator's power. Inscribe Dao Marks upon your body, and you can command space and time, sever cause and effect, and defy reincarnation.
Ye Wuhen, the orphaned survivor of a fallen family in the Eastern Profound Immortal Domain, watched his entire family get slaughtered when he was ten. As his mother lay in a pool of blood, he awakened the Temporal Bone and glimpsed the future: ten years later, he would kill his enemy with a single sword strike. But that future would cost him a lifetime of suffering.
To avenge his family, he concealed his identity and wandered for eight years. At the brink of despair, he awakened the Void Bone and embarked on the path of cultivating the dual laws of space and time. At the Qingyun Sect, he started out as a servant, then astonished the immortals with a single sword strike. Exploring an ancient ruin, he was trapped in a time loop for one hundred thousand cycles, but broke free through sheer perseverance. As he investigates secret realms dating back to the first six epochs, he gradually uncovers the truth behind the annihilation of the epochs: the universe has already undergone seven cycles of reincarnation. Each time, "Chu" has been simulating a perfect world, and if the seventh attempt fails, the Myriad Worlds will return to nothingness.
From personal vendettas to power struggles, from infighting within the sect to the survival of civilization, Ye Wuhen moves cautiously through a world of deception and intrigue. He earns respect through decisive violence and gathers companions through loyalty and compassion. He takes disciples and passes on his teachings, founding the Space-Time Sword Sect. He experiences five deeply moving romances, with each woman following a complete life of her own. He and his sworn enemy go from trying to kill each other to entrusting each other with their lives, while he turns the tables on the mastermind who once manipulated him.
When the final truth comes to light, the cycle of epochs turns out to be nothing more than "Chu's" obsession with perfection. But does perfection really exist?
At the age of three thousand, Ye Wuhen has become a Dao Ancestor. He makes his choice: rather than enter the Eighth Epoch, he transforms his own Dao Marks into a river of space and time, extending the life of the Seventh Epoch. He himself returns to mortal life and lives in seclusion, spending the rest of his days with the one he loves.
