Lin Feng, captain of a top modern rescue team, was blasted into the air by a shell during an overseas rescue mission. When he opened his eyes again, his soul had entered the body of a good-for-nothing young lord with the same name in the Great Jing Dynasty.
With no memories of the body's former owner and no powerful family to rely on, his modern rescue gear was his only trump card. A passing wealthy merchant saved him, but because his identity was unknown, he was forced into a marriage with a frail young lady as her live-in son-in-law, brought in to bring her good fortune.
The world mocked him as a lowly, useless son-in-law.
Little did they know that his body housed a soul from the modern age, armed with power that could crush anyone of his era.
Bandits close in to kill him? His bulletproof vest turns aside blades and bullets, his pistol fells bandits at close range, and his divine armor strikes fear into all who see it.
The young lady is near death? A single modern antibiotic turns the tide between life and death, leaving the city's most renowned doctors astonished.
He is challenged at a poetry gathering? He recites timeless masterpieces off the cuff, sweeping the literary world with his poetry and political essays, crushing his way from a county-town son-in-law to a literary titan in the capital.
More astonishing still, he uses modern knowledge to build hot-air balloons, develop crude explosives, and invent high-altitude flag signaling, creating the Great Jing's first aerial Divine Machinery Battalion.
Hot-air balloons rain down bombs from the sky, flag signals carry messages for thousands of miles, and guerrilla warfare combined with air superiority overwhelms the enemy, completely rewriting the rules of the battlefield.
From a son-in-law of humble origins to the legitimate heir of a marquis's household, from a minor official in the Ministry of Works to a regent whose power reaches across the court.
He investigates old cases, clears his family's name, reforms the court, and secures the borders. With modern ideals, he sweeps away feudal corruption and uses air superiority to bring the realm under his rule.
Watch as an elite rescuer, armed with modern equipment and foresight, defies fate and carves out a legendary path to peace and prosperity in the Great Jing Dynasty!
