Shen Qingci, the Shen family's legitimate daughter, dies with bitter resentment and carries the Abyss-Clearing Jade Soul into the modern world, where she becomes Su Wan, a sacrificial pawn forced into a proxy marriage.
She impulsively marries Lu Chenyuan, a stern criminal investigator, only to discover that he has been haunted for over a decade by nightmares about her!
She knows classical Chinese and can identify ancient tombs. Cool-headed and sharp, she is nothing like an ordinary young woman.
Ghostly disturbances in the bridal chamber, a stolen ancient jade, and strange incense ash keep appearing as the truth closes in, step by step.
He tests her, she keeps up her act, and a thousand-year-old secret is about to be revealed:
“Lu Chenyuan, the person in your dreams has always been me.”
