In 2242, Blue Star faces a double extinction crisis: the Void Insectoids and cosmic radiation storms. Ninety-nine percent of humanity is mutated or dead, and civilization has collapsed. The surface has become radiation-blasted wasteland, overrun with insectoid hives, while the deep sea and underground are the only places that might offer the beginnings of safe havens.
