Me, a Straight Man! How Did I Become the Tyrant's Favorite Concubine?

Chen Qinghe transmigrates into an imaginary dynasty as a love-struck supporting female character, and is being carried off to serve the tyrant in bed.

Kneeling outside the hall, he hears the emperor smash things inside and curse, “Asshole!”

That word doesn’t belong here!

People in ancient times don’t say that!

That night, using a performance as an excuse, he grits his teeth and writes “The product is even, the symbol stays the same” on a piece of paper. After a long silence, the tyrant completes it: “The product is odd, the symbol changes.”

They recognize each other in this absurd way and become the only people from their world in this strange realm.

Then they decide to play the parts of a wicked consort and a tyrant.

Chen Qinghe screams inwardly: I’m a straight man! How am I supposed to act?

He walks with his feet turned out, splits his legs while kneeling to pay his respects, and becomes the palace’s uniquely unconventional “wicked consort.”

Xiahou Yao watches calmly. “Good acting. Keep it up! You’ve built a great wicked-consort persona.”

Until the Empress Dowager poisons him and a prince launches a coup… Chen Qinghe is gravely wounded while saving Xiahou Yao, and is close to death.

Before losing consciousness, he gives a bitter smile and confesses: “Sorry… I’m actually a man.”

Xiahou Yao wipes the blood from the corner of his mouth and says, word by word:

“I knew. I’ve always loved only your soul.”

“And I lied to you too. I haven’t been here for three months.”

“It’s been twenty years.”
