Not a power fantasy! This leans toward the traditional wuxia dramas that people born in the 1980s and 1990s watched as children. Out of respect for the greats, I have tried not to repeat the characters, martial arts, or stories of many celebrated veteran authors. The historical backdrop begins with Zhu Yuanzhang naming Zhu Biao crown prince and ends with Zhu Di launching the Jingnan Campaign. Along the way, the story draws in many martial artists, scholars, merchants, bandits, and others, and follows the growth of several characters. Wuxia-style romance is part of the tale, too. “Writing carries the Way”: every form of expression seeks to illuminate the Way. One person has limited perspective, so I hope you’ll share corrections or criticism over a cup of tea. Your comments are the source of our continued improvement. Thank you in advance! Wishing you all good fortune in the Year of the Horse and success in everything you do!
