Damn It, I Can’t Beat These Ghosts, So I’m Clinging to the Strongest Ally

(A little too short to be a novella, but too long to be a short story. It's brisk and fast-paced. Make do and enjoy!)

After Jiang Cha dies, she becomes a ghost in a horror game. Afraid of both players and ghosts, she's famous in the game as a "cowardly ghost" who won't even attack the weakest player.

Luckily, she's not the only ghost in each instance. She keeps her head down and lets the others deal with the players. As long as she doesn't show herself, the players can't find her anyway.

But one day, a ghost-hunting expert suddenly enters the game, sweeping up every ghost, big or small.

With another death seemingly just around the corner, Jiang Cha grits her teeth, gives up resisting, and throws herself at the expert's feet, clinging on for dear life.

Please take me with you, boss!

She may not know how to do anything, but she can talk, flatter, act pitiful, and play cute.

To her surprise, the expert is immune to neither hard nor soft tactics, and actually goes for her approach.

Later, she learns to throw her weight around, push her luck, and take advantage of his favor.

In the end, the expert spends every day capturing ghosts and sewing them pretty dresses.
