A Substitute Bride to Bring Good Fortune: The Crippled Prince Dotes on His Wife and Shakes the Capital

My older half-sister eloped while pregnant, so they dragged me, her younger half-sister, off to take her place in a marriage meant to bring a sick man good fortune.

The whole capital laughed at me: Marry a crippled, mad prince? You’re as good as dead.

My scumbag father looked on coldly, my stepmother sneered, and my half-sister waited for me to die horribly in the prince’s manor.

I climbed into the bridal sedan chair prepared to meet my death, but on our wedding night, I was stunned.

The supposedly crippled, hideous, bloodthirsty prince removed his mask, revealing a face handsome enough to outshine the heavens. Then he lifted his robe: his leg was perfectly fine!

He trapped me in his arms and chuckled in a low voice.

“The Princess Consort knows too much. For the rest of her life, she can only be mine.”

From then on, the prince’s manor was turned upside down!

Cruel servants bullying their mistress? I beat them until they begged for mercy.

My half-sister looking for trouble? I ripped off her innocent-white-lotus act.

Political scheming? The prince protected his wife and crushed his enemies!

Everyone was waiting to laugh at me, but all they could do was watch:

The prince doted on me like I was the apple of his eye,

The Empress Dowager cherished me like family,

and when my twins, a boy and a girl, were born, the whole capital came to curry favor!

Me: “Your Highness, I was only supposed to bring you good fortune.”

The prince chuckled. “Bring me good fortune? I married you for you.”
