This book does not pursue a "panoramic" general history of the Southern and Northern Dynasties, but a Qi and Liang historical novel with Yu Xin as the protagonist, using his eyes to see the world and using his body to feel the times. Using "Ai Jiangnan Ode" as the structural basis, it describes major historical events such as Hou Jing's Rebellion, the Burning of Books in Jiangling, and the end of Yiguan's southern crossing.
