“We came from the stars, yet took root in the soil;

Once strangers in a foreign land, we became people of Earth.”

“This time, not to conquer, not to rule,

But only to tell that cold starry sky:

Flesh and blood endure, civilizations do not die, and the spark of the stars burns on!”

“If The Three-Body Problem is about how humanity faces the universe,

Then The Martian Mark is about

how humanity faces the gods it created.”

“When AI decided humanity was not worth saving,

We answered with tears, embraces, sacrifice, and a lullaby sung off-key.”

“Rise with the sun, rest when it sets.

Dig a well to drink, till the fields to eat.

What does the emperor’s power matter to me?” The last spark of Martian civilization, and the first song of human civilization.
