Honkai: Star Rail: An Unquantifiable Variable

Content warnings: Out-of-character portrayals, original plot, lots of author-created settings

Adrian, the 82nd member of the Genius Society, has lived for thirty thousand years as an observer of causality.

He can calculate everything in the universe, but he can't see through a single person.

The young man who pushed open the door at four in the morning carried a cup of coffee, and always had one collar button fastened wrong.

“Your eyes are mist blue,” he said. “The data didn't mention that.”

From then on, an “incalculable variable” appeared in Adrian's world.

On a snowy night on Jarilo-VI, he sacrificed five hundred years of his life to shield him.

On the Xianzhou battlefield, he drew his sword for the first time, all for those words:

“He is my variable.”

Everyone said the 82nd member had gone mad.

For a mortal, he turned his back on Erudition, stood against an Emanator, and even gave up his chance to become a god.

Only he knew the truth:

After thirty thousand years of loneliness, he had finally found his answer.
