Good night, Linden Scott.
I'm sorry to hear you were gone on Valentine's Day.
Linden Scott, you were only 34 this year, with a bright future ahead of you.
You were ruthlessly ambitious, called yourself a “lone wolf,” and were a thoroughly despicable person. You were proud of it, too.
“I” once traveled alongside you, in the Golden Mane, in the Holy Grail War, in the Two-Phase Paradise...
It seems “we” were always rivals, but “I” enjoyed it. So did I.
As a “Trailblazer” who had only just set out, “I” hadn't even had the chance to meet you before learning that you would die in the future.
How cruel. I hadn't even truly met you, and you were already gone.
We were supposed to be enemies, yet somehow I came to think of you as a friend.
Otherwise, why does my heart ache faintly right now?
But that is only wishful thinking on my part.
The universe won't stop turning for the death of an ordinary person. Perhaps by tomorrow, you'll be completely forgotten.
Even this grand farewell is only happening because you were lucky enough to be seen by “me,” by “Trailblazing.”
How tragic. My unforgettable nemesis, or perhaps my friend, was just an ordinary person who flashed by in the vastness of the universe.
“We” could have kept traveling together, perhaps all the way to the edge of the universe...
But there's no point in saying that now. You're gone.
With sincere remembrance and heartfelt wishes, I dedicate this to Linden Scott.
May you no longer have to struggle to make ends meet over there. May you be able to stop, truly do what you love, and become the person you want to be.
Good night, Linden Scott.
Nice…
The story is well written, but the changes have been quite drastic and are a little different from the original plot details.
