Great Song: Awakening from the Candlelight and Axe-Shadows Incident

He died amid the candlelit shadows and the sound of an axe, watching his son meet a gruesome end with his own eyes, and seeing a dynasty’s fate unfold over a century. Then he opened his eyes and found himself back on the day he was clad in the imperial yellow robe.

Before him, his soldiers knelt in tribute. Behind him stood his younger brother, still a young man.

He knew his brother would take the throne, and that his own son would die at his brother’s hands.

He knew the policies he had set in place would leave the Great Song Dynasty weak for a hundred years.

He knew the Sixteen Prefectures of Yanyun were still in Liao hands, and that he had only sixteen years to act.

This time, he would change his own fate, his son’s fate, and the fate of the Great Song Dynasty.
