[Japanese-style Light Novel] [Yuri] [Alien Apocalypse]
The alien originals invade, and humanity becomes their food. On the day of the Sapporo Snow Festival, high schooler Asano Yuki loses her entire family and escapes by hiding in a ventilation duct. Just as she thinks she is doomed, a white-haired, gray-eyed being lifts the grate, gives her a look, and says, “I’ll keep you.”
That being is Gin, a simulated human and a higher species than humanity. They look almost exactly alike, except for a pair of pointed ears. Gin should have eaten Yuki, but instead she makes her different dishes every day and stays by her bed each night when nightmares wake her. When Yuki asks why she has not eaten her, Gin thinks for a long time. “I don’t know.”
Among the ruins, other humans kept as pets are locked in cages and chained up. Only Yuki can move freely by Gin’s side. She begins teaching Gin about human food, and Gin starts recording every one of her preferences: “Individual 1837, named Yuki. Likes miso soup. Easily startled awake. Room temperature should be kept at 22 degrees.”
A girl who should have died, and a simulated human who should have no feelings, make a life together as each other’s only daily constant in the apocalypse.
But beyond the ruins, humanity is fighting back. Above them, the alien originals are watching.
And little by little, Yuki realizes that the way Gin looks at her is... not quite the way those simulated humans look at “food.”
It's really good-looking, but it has a bad ending.
Why are there so few people? It's obviously very beautiful.
