When the Moon Shines over Jinling

During a time of chaos, powerful minister Shen Mo meets Lin Wanqiu, a woman living in the mountains, while on a mission. Political upheaval later forces him to “forget” her. Eighteen years later, his daughter Su Wanci sets out with a keepsake to find her father, but is rescued along the way by the chivalrous Yan Wushu. As Wushu tries to reunite father and daughter, she is gravely injured and falls unconscious. Shen Mo mistakes her for his own daughter and brings her into his household. Wanci stays by her side as her sworn sister.

In the Shen household in Jinling, feelings run deep beneath the surface. Shen Mo’s eldest son, Shen Zheng, falls deeply in love with Wushu. The gentle young nobleman Gu Yan watches over Wanci, while Lu Zhan, the son of a military family, is drawn to Wushu’s spirited nature. But Wushu discovers that she bears a deep-seated grudge: the enemy who slaughtered her family has close ties to the Shen family. When she and Wanci join forces to break through the predicament, Wushu’s true identity is revealed, unleashing a storm that shakes the entire court.

In the end, Shen Zheng gives up everything for love and leaves with Wushu to roam the world. After his devastating loss and the shock of the truth, Shen Mo comes to his senses. He uses his lifetime of accomplishments to clear Wushu’s family of its false accusations, and reunites with Wanci as her father.
