A Mistake at the Eastern Palace

(Palace intrigue + family drama + reborn + revenge + female disguise + power and favor + the powerful refuse to yield + twists of fate + taking by force + love that grows over time) In the Great Liang Dynasty, Su Qingwu, a concubine-born daughter of the Marquis of Wuxuan, struggled to get by in the inner household alongside her mother and younger brother. Hoping to make life easier for them, she stayed by her legitimate sister’s side, always cautious and willing to swallow her pride. The world was unfair to women, especially concubines and their daughters, yet she could do nothing to fight back. When her legitimate elder sister, Su Jingyi, married, she took Qingwu to serve as her husband’s bedchamber attendant, since Qingwu’s brother-in-law was unsatisfied with her. Qingwu became a pawn in the struggle for his favor. Then, through a moment’s carelessness, she became pregnant. Su Jingyi, consumed by jealousy, forced her to abort the child. In the end, Qingwu died from blood loss, full of resentment. As she lay dying, she made one wish: in her next life, she would not be born a woman. Perhaps her fury disturbed the peace of the Buddhas and gods above, because she truly was granted another life. Now that she had been given a second chance, revenge was all she wanted. She would kill Su Jingyi with her own hands, bring down the Marquis of Wuxuan’s household, and find her mother and younger brother from her past life and rescue them from that den of vipers. By chance, she became entangled with the Crown Prince. Through a twist of fate, her twin sister in this life fell into his hands. The Crown Prince said he would only let her sister leave the palace if the two sisters switched identities. Only one of them could live openly before the world. Her resistance and tantrums became nothing more than a source of amusement for him. Before long, the Crown Prince became more and more protective and indulgent. Once cautious at every turn, she grew bold and domineering, surpassing even the noblewomen of the capital. She plotted carefully and planned each step, until she finally avenged her family and rose to the highest seat of power.
