Painter Hu Jian discovered that cracks appeared out of thin air in Su Baoding's sketches. Following his grandfather's last wish, he went to the mouth of the Xiangxi River to explore, and unexpectedly uncovered a centuries-old secret. Eleven people with different thoughts, including Yin Linyun, the president of the Chamber of Commerce, Qiu Jianguo, the greedy businessman, Zhao Lele, the owner of a car dealership who is looking for her father, and Huang Qiaomai, a descendant of bandits, gathered in Jiangkou due to different obsessions and embarked on a deep mountain adventure in Subaoding.
The crowd went deep into the underground caves, broke into Qing Dynasty cultivation caves, explored the Song Dynasty grottoes and temples, and solved the bronze compass mechanism, uncovering the fog of history layer by layer: behind the treasures buried by the bandits of the Republic of China, there were hidden the thousand-year secrets of the princes of the Song Dynasty, and twenty innocent souls who had been silenced were sleeping. Along the way, there are dense agencies and dangers, and greed and conscience are constantly at odds. Everyone faces the ultimate test of human nature.
This treasure hunt finally becomes a road to redemption. In the secret realm, everyone lets go of their obsessions, completes transformation, and finally understands that the real treasure is never gold and silver, but the compassion of human nature and the destination of the heart. Among the folk songs and landscapes of western Hunan, this story about exploration, struggle and inheritance has become Su Baoding's most moving imprint.
