Kyojuro Rengoku remembers dying after his battle with Upper Rank Three.

Then someone claiming to be a god told him, “I can send you back. But you’ll have to give up a few things: your sense of taste, your Nichirin Blade, and your Breathing Style. And no matter what you say, they won’t believe you.”

Because by the time he returned, that world had fallen into chaos. Countless transmigrators had dropped from the sky, knowing everything but unable to reveal the truth. They gave the Demon Slayer Corps hope that the dead could return, yet the one who had truly come back was mistaken for a cosplayer.

Rengoku still went back.

He fell from the sky and landed at the Demon Slayer Corps Headquarters. Everyone stared at him in silence, trembling and afraid to approach.

“I’m back,” he said.

No one believed him.

Tanjiro couldn’t smell him, Zenitsu couldn’t hear his thoughts, and Inosuke couldn’t sense him either. The memories he shared were dismissed as things every transmigrator knew. They treated him like another visitor from a different world, politely giving him a place to stay and gently turning him away.

“Just call me Mr. Anzu,” he said, choosing a name for himself and smiling as he always had.

Then he started helping out. He began secretly practicing his Breathing Style late at night. He began killing demons to extend the time he could remain there.

If he didn’t kill, he would slowly turn transparent and disappear.

The Demon Slayer Corps wanted to help him return home,

but this was his home.

He had nowhere else to go.

Then one day, Tanjiro’s sword was knocked from his hand and danger closed in. A hand picked up the blade and stepped in front of everyone.

Flames roared to life.
