In the chaos of the Republic of China, Lin Wan dies with regrets and is reborn at the turning point of her fate. This time, she will no longer be a timid vine for others to trample. At a banquet, she takes ruthless revenge on the faithless man who betrayed her, reclaiming her dignity and earning her first fortune. Amid the chaos and flames of war, she rises from a penniless orphan in Shanghai to become “Jinghong,” a name that strikes terror into her enemies, thanks to a mysterious “Pioneer of a Strong Nation” System and her brilliance beyond her time.
She rescues orphan girls and gathers talented people, lighting the first spark of industry in the barren mountains of northern Chongqing. She makes miracle medicines and forges powerful cannons, wielding technology as a blade to create a patch of clear sky over a shattered land. Gu Changfeng, an elite member of the like-minded Fuxing Society, stands by her side. Admiration turns to love, and he becomes her soulmate, ready to share life and death with her. But the most cunning intelligence officer in the eastern Japanese forces, “Crow,” follows her like a shadow. Suspicion stirs within their ranks, and even her closest family members are caught in danger.
From tearing a scoundrel to shreds to commanding the “Dark Night” unit, from personal revenge to saving the nation through science and technology, Lin Wan is tempered in the flames of war and reborn through loss. After giving everything she has, she finally sees the dawn of a new China. Yet she chooses to retire at the height of her success and disappear into obscurity, turning the wisdom of a lifetime into the foundation for her country's rise.
This is the story of a woman who uses her intelligence and passion to rewrite her fate with her own hands and create a legend in a time of turmoil. From a tiny spark to a blazing fire, what she ignites is not only the flame of revenge, but also a nation's long road to revival.
