After Our Daoist Partnership Certificate Shattered, My Master Swept the Floor Outside My Palace

In her previous life, Yun Wange helped her master, Mo Linyuan, ascend to immortality. They cultivated together for a thousand years, only for him to rip out her spiritual root and seize her life-bound sword on the day of his tribulation, then throw her into the Ten Thousand Demons Cave to take the lightning in Bai Qingyi’s place. As her soul scattered, she saw him ascending to immortality with that white lotus in his arms, treading over her blood and flesh.

Reborn three hundred years earlier, she had just reclaimed the Marrow-Cleansing Spirit Spring when Bai Qingyi knelt before the mountain gate and called her “Senior Sister.” In front of everyone, she poured the spring into a pond and sneered at Mo Linyuan: “You don’t deserve to taste it.”

This time, she exposes Bai Qingyi as a demon-spy first, cripples her cultivation, and tosses her into the servants’ quarters to make her suffer the humiliations Yun Wange endured in her previous life. Drawing on a thousand years of memories, she beats Mo Linyuan to every opportunity, leaving him stuck at the Mahayana stage for three hundred years until his Dao heart is on the verge of collapse. She also discovers that the so-called “ascension through the righteous path” is a scam: the Upper Realm treats cultivators from the Lower Realm as furnaces to be harvested. So she turns to join forces with the Demon Lord Ye Chenyuan, who gathered her remnant soul in the Ten Thousand Demons Cave, and vows to overthrow this hypocritical Heavenly Dao.

Only after her “death” does Mo Linyuan glimpse the truth in fragments of the Heavenly Dao: Bai Qingyi is an impostor, and Yun Wange was the benefactor who took a heavenly tribulation for him a thousand years ago and kept his heart meridians alive. Driven mad, he storms the Ten Thousand Demons Cave, only to find her already a queen of the demonic path, dressed in blazing red and leaning against Ye Chenyuan’s side. He kneels and begs for forgiveness. She hands him a scrap of broken iron: “Cultivate no more. Come sweep the floor in front of my hall.”

He sweeps for ten years, watching her and Ye Chenyuan grow ever closer. Only when the passage to the Upper Realm opens and the reaping scythe hangs over them does he understand: she never wanted revenge. She wanted to overturn the chessboard of heaven and earth. And even the chance to present her with a “Dao companion certificate” is something she crushes in her own hand, reducing it to dust.
